and her new powerhouse all female band, made the leap recently into the Top 20 on FMQB"s AC40 chart and is currently at #16 (with a bullet)--just behind songs by superstar artists Maroon 5, Daughtry, Pink and Wayne Brady and ahead of Kid Rock, Nickelback, Goo Goo Dolls and Sara Bareilles.
The track is currently available for streaming and downloading at all the major online retailers, including iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, Best Buy, Emusic, LaLa.com and MP3.com.
The quick-building success of the track would have the makings of a great comeback story if not for one important item. While the singer, who shot to stardom with the era defining movie soundtrack hits "Fame" (which she also starred in) and "Flashdance"What A Feeling," has been away from the U.S. pop charts since the late 80s, she"s never stopped being a global recording and touring sensation.
Throughout the 90"s and 2000s, she"s been a concert attraction in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and she recently turned down offers in Dubai, Mexico and Portugal to focus on putting the finishing touches on the new CD.
