QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 11/10/09 -- Organa Gardens International Inc. (OTCBB: OGNG) reports that the Company is in the process of applying for a world-wide patent for its vertical hydroponic farming system, Organa Gardens System - Enterprise (OGS-E).



The Management of Organa Gardens is in the final steps of determining the types of materials that will be used to mass produce the OGS-E units economically so that the units can be sold and used affordably by the general population who would like to grow their own food organically and efficiently.



In the November edition of Scientific American, Dickson Despommier, Columbia University professor of public health and microbiology, suggests that it will be less risky and more efficient to move farming indoors, as close as possible to population centers. In a tightly controlled environment, crops would not be subject to the pest, disease, moisture or temperature stresses that occur in the field. Because the "farms" would be in the heart of the population that consumes the produce, transport and fossil fuel used to deliver produce would be minimized. In the US, there is an estimated 30 per cent wastage during transport of certain foods that would also be eliminated. "The acknowledgement of Mr. Despommier regarding the merits of indoor farming is indeed encouraging for Organa," states Christopher Scheive, President of the Company.
