2014-08-12 21:25:31 - Much of what we in the Western World know about the country Ukraine is well, not much, and the little that we do know is usually not positive. Generally what is shown and reported by the western media is a war torn afflicted nation. L’viv a city in the Ukraine is currently regarded as one of the main cultural centres of modern day Ukraine, and model Sofiya Chorniy is proving to be a prime example of that. And she is illustrating this at the young age of just 20.
The eastern European descendant, who has been with Orange Model Management since March 2012, drew her first breath in L’viv, Ukraine, but did not take what is considered the traditional path en route to becoming a model. We could say the aspiring model did this and that, but the word “aspiring” would not be the most accurate adjective to use when describing Ms. Chorniy.
She did not have aspirations of being a model initially – not because she did not want to - she got into modelling because people around her told her that she should try it, and at their behest she finally decided to give it a go. The moment she did, it instantly seemed to be the correct
decision as she said she “definitely did not regret it” when recalling her choice to take the plunge into modelling.
Since then she has racked up a plethora of credits for a multitude of organizations. These include appearing in a print ad campaign for the Canadian sector – Adidas.ca – of the German Sports and Apparel giant Adidas. Along with that she can be seen in an online print ad for the clothing company Urban Planet, a photo shoot for Moon Apparel & Alfred Sung clothing, modelling purses at LoveTheit.com, as well as appearing in a fashion show for Dog Clothing at Woodstock 2013. Other in-person appearances encompass modelling on Global TV’s Live Morning Show and at the 2013 Toronto Auto and Trade Show.
Not content with being one dimensional she can be seen in front of the camera as well. Sofiya made appearances in PSY’s “Save Your Screams” – which was booked by Much Music - and Tim Chaisson’s “Beat This Heart” (which features Serena Ryder) music videos. So keep an eye out for those on your TV screens as well as phones, laptops, tablets and other electronic devices when you are on line.
With so many jobs to choose from she cannot pin point a favourite experience or select a specific job as the one she enjoyed the most but she says the ones which are the most pleasurable are the ones where she gets to meet – and work with – people who are extremely passionate about their vocation. The reason being is that their enthusiasm and respect creates a fun and enjoyable working environment. One can easily see the wisdom in that as well as the effect on the quality of work she has produced.
According to Sofiya if she was not modelling she would most likely be a tutor because she is very passionate about teaching and assisting others obtain a better a understanding of things in regards to education. But luckily she is modelling, and we are all thankful that she is.
