- Farmers Insurance Group Jerry Davies, 213-400-4459 jerry.davies@farmersinsurance.com Thousands of Farmers Insurance agents in cities across America have their sights set on June 3rd to raise more than $2 million for the March of Dimes in one day.

Called "Be a Hero for Babies Day," this is the third year Farmers Insurance is calling on everyday people

to become a "hero" for healthy babies.

The telethon event begins at 7:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3rd on the 6th floor of Farmers home office at 4680 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles 90010.

At 1:30 p.m. there will be a press conference rally in the East parking lot of the home office, where Farmers executives and dignitaries will announce the days fundraising total.

It will be an exciting day as the March of Dimes National Ambassador Catherine Aboulhouda and her family join Farmers executives and employees to listen to the call-ins from Farmers Agents' offices from around the country announcing the totals raised in each state.

Farmers Insurance started "Be a Hero for Babies Day" when Chief Executive Officer Paul N. Hopkins challenged Farmers Insurance agents and employees two years ago to raise $1 million in one day for the March of Dimes. They responded by raising $1.44 million.

On June 7, 2007, Farmers agents and employees nationwide raised $2.6 million -- the largest single-day fundraiser in March of Dimes history. The total for the year in 2007 was $4.7 million placing Farmers as the number one insurance company fundraiser for the March of Dimes nationwide.

"Our goal is big because the need is big. Each day babies are born prematurely and we must do what we can to help them have a fighting chance at a healthy life," said Mr. Hopkins. -0- WHAT: Farmers Insurance One Day Fundraising Telethon for the March of Dimes. "We are proud to put our money where are hearts are," said Mr. Hopkins. "Helping babies is the right thing to do, and it's easy to do. All the money raised will help the smallest gain the most."
