- Oncor's work is done in East Texas, according to Oncor Senior Vice President for Distribution Brenda Pulis. As of Saturday, every home or business in southeast Texas affected by Hurricane Ike that could take electricity had power. Some homes and businesses may be too damaged to be restored.

At the peak of Hurricane Ike's impact on Sept. 13, 108,000 homes and businesses were without power in the Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Tyler areas.

"Oncor crews have worked hard to return electric service to southeast Texas in the wake of Hurricane Ike. In less than one week, Oncor crews have reset or repaired hundreds of poles, replaced transformers, energized substations and repaired downed lines," Pulis said. "We are thankful

for the community support our crews enjoyed this past week. Our jobs would have been a lot more difficult without their patience and understanding."

Oncor is a regulated electric distribution and transmission business that provides reliable electricity delivery to consumers. Oncor operates the largest distribution and transmission system in Texas, providing power to 3 million electric delivery points over more than 102,000 miles of distribution and 14,000 miles of transmission lines. While Oncor is a subsidiary of Energy Future Holdings Corp., Oncor is a separate entity with a separate board that is comprised of a majority of independent directors.
