2014-08-13 17:34:52 - Provocator design studio, specializing in developing applications and widgets for Android, recently released Old School Dashboard - a universal widget that combines clock, calendar, thermometer, weather forecast, indicators of communication, Wi-Fi and battery charge. The most distinctive feature of the new widget is its design. It is created entirely in the style of dashboards of the legendary cars of 1950s. Indeed, it was the time of those who preferred blondes, liked it hot and sang in the rain. The time of legendary cars and classic interfaces, the time which style never goes out of fashion.
Free version of the Old School Dashboard features a dapper clock with a window showing the current date and battery indicator on the polished metal panel. Widget´s Settings allow users to choose one of the five languages (English, French, Italian, German and Spanish), enable or disable the second pointer and toggle background on and off. But most importantly, users have an opportunity to try out the full version of the widget for 24 hours by tapping on a special tumbler. Not only does the full version offer richer functionality, all owners of the paid version will benefit from interesting additions that will be provided to them free of charge in the nearest future.
In full version, users can toggle on and
off the calendar and two indicators: the availability of Wi-Fi signal and communication level. Tapping two arrows to the right and left of the clock leads to the weather block. The main element of the widget is the thermometer (in Settings users can choose the units - Celsius or Fahrenheit) with a window that displays the current weather. The sliding screen leads to the weather forecast for the next three days.
Moreover, owners of paid version can choose the widget background. In addition to polished metal, which is in the free version, there is dark wood, light wood and stylish metal grating. Users can choose any of them or disable the background completely.
Besides language selection and second pointer toggles, it is possible to enable or disable the visualization of Wi-Fi, communication level and battery charge indicators.
"Why do you need this new widget?" - says Yuri Velichko, creative director of the studio. - "Someone pumps up force, someone mana, and someone stealth and hacking. But those who play this life on Nightmare and without saves, they know that it is necessary to pump up the charisma. You do not believe me? Ask Winston Churchill, Darth Vader, Dr. Evil, Bart Simpson, or at least Mick Jagger. And those who install the Old School Dashboard immediately get +100 to charisma!"
Price and availability
The widget was created for smartphones and tablets running OS Android. The full version of the application is available for $2 and can be downloaded by clicking on the special toggle in Settings of the free version.
