LATEST: A single copy of OJ SIMPSON's scrapped book IF I DID IT appeared briefly on internet auction site eBay yesterday (22NOV06), before being removed.
The item attracted more than 50 bids of up to $1,600 (£890) before publisher HarperCollins alerted the site and the sale was stopped.
A spokesperson for HarperCollins says, "We are doing everything in our power to have them all destroyed." Simpson was paid a reported $3.5 million (£1.95 million) to write the book, a hypothetical description of how he would have killed his ex-wife NICOLE SIMPSON and her friend RONALD GOLDMAN.
The project, and a two-part TV interview on the subject, were scrapped after criticism from the victims' families and mass public outcry. (IG/WNWR/SH) (c) 2006 WORLD ENTERTAINMENT NEWS NETWORK LTD. All global rights reserved. No unauthorised copying or re-distributing permitted.
