2012-02-22 21:00:57 - RUN Software has released a new major version of the Terminology-Oriented Database Management system

ODABA is a Terminology-Oriented Database Management System (TODBMS) based on standards for object-oriented databases (ODMG 2003). Terminology orientation helps building building applications by human language driven methods and tools. Besides the DBMS kernel, which supports enhanced terminology oriented features, several tools like the terminology builder (Terminus), database modeling and program implementation (ClassEditor) and a GUI designer are provided.
The latest version of the ODABA has been released on Tuesday, February 21th, 2012. This is a major version providing exhaustive new features. This version also contains the final release for the GUI component support. Email communication features have been improved.
Document export allows creating LibreOffice, MSOffice or HTML documents from database content based on document templates. In order to support storing data

in different kinds of databases, multiple storage support has been released, which allows storing ODABA data in SQL databases, but also in XML text files. Support for different types of text encoding and text import has been improved. Component definition and exchange has been released for exchanging complex development resources between different projects. Synonyms for data types and properties are supported for maintaining changes in user's terminology. Moreover, the version contains a pre-release for calendar controls and email support.
Several tests have been made in order to remove run-time errors in optimized code and error handling. Bug fixes are reported in change logs for this version.
Finally, the installation procedure has been improved in order to support optional third party packages.
