www.nyssa.org/ - The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA), a not-for-profit educational organization that has been a leading forum for the investment community since 1937, announced today that three prestigious tri-state area colleges and universities have been accepted as participants in the 2008-2009 Investment Research Challenge.
The Hagan School of Business at Iona College, Fairfield
University's Charles F. Dolan School of Business, and the Christos M. Cotsakos College of Business at William Patterson University, will compete against nine other schools when the competition begins in September.
"We are very excited to have three new schools join the Investment Research Challenge," said William Drawbridge, Director of Marketing and Development at NYSSA. "The additions of Iona, Fairfield, and William Patterson will strengthen the competition and also provide NYSSA with the opportunity to reach more students and help them throughout their careers."
NYSSA introduced the Investment Research Challenge seven years ago as a means to promote best practices in research among the next generation of analysts. The Challenge is a six-month educational initiative in which leading industry professionals teach business and finance students how to research and report on a publicly traded company. The students present their findings in a professional report that is graded by analysts with extensive industry experience. The top four teams, chosen based on the written reports, advance to present their findings, and the winning team qualifies for the CFA(R) Institute Global Investment Research Challenge to compete against students from across the world.
