2009-10-12 20:02:23 - From starting the next Google, Facebook or Twitter to creating charities to serve essential social needs, the entrepreneurial ingenuity of America’s youth holds the key to economic recovery.

LOS ANGELES, CA – In times of economic uncertainty when thousands of laid-off workers are seeking jobs, the innovations of young entrepreneurs have never been more essential.

A new nonprofit project is uniquely dedicated to supporting young entrepreneurs through creative outreach, policy advocacy, and online community support. Called People for The American Dream (www.PeopleForTheAmericanDream.org ), the project provides tools, resources and inspiration to this essential demographic.

People For The American Dream is part of the People for the American Dream campaign, a nonprofit project of the Prometheus Institute, a 501©(3) public charity dedicated to engaging, educating, inspiring, and empowering younger Americans to increase the freedom in their lives.

“Unique among entrepreneurship sites, we are not trying to sell someone’s get-rich-quick scheme,” says

Matt Harrison, author and executive director of the Prometheus Institute of Los Angeles, “We realize entrepreneurship is about more than money – it’s about a lifestyle of independence and personal freedom.”

“Entrepreneurs add great value to our economy by introducing creative and innovative products and services into the marketplace,” adds Harrison, “We want Americans to learn how entrepreneurs are the source for net job growth in the United States and to understand how innovations give America prosperity for the long term.”

Unique features offered at the website include:

• High-quality video interviews of successful young entrepreneurs in diverse fields, from music to technology, sharing their experience and advice.
• Useful tips and resources on how to transform your life as a student, 9-5 worker or underachiever into economic independence as a self-employed entrepreneur.
• Facts and information about public policy reforms to help empower the American Dream.

Harrison is available for expert commentary on public policy issues related to youth entrepreneurship, especially the impact of President Obama’s policies and proposals on business formation and development.

As a 19-year-old college sophomore Harrison organized the Prometheus Institute (www.ThePrometheusInstitute.org) to discover independent policy solutions to reduce the burden of government on the people and to creatively market these ideas to citizens in order to create the political demand for positive change.

Harrison also is author of The American Evolution: How America Can Adapt to the Political, Economic and Social Challenges of the 21st Century (ISBN 13:978-0-615-28204-6, Copyright 2009, Prometheus Institute Press, Los Angeles, CA, $14, www.AmericanEvolutionBook.com).
