(NEW YORK)(October 12, 2008) The leader of the national anti-Obama movement, legendary Chicago Internet columnist and Obama author Andy Martin, will hold a New York news conference Sunday, October 12 with a starting recommendation to Republicans: Republicans across the United States must "take back" the campaign from John McCain and start mounting an effective opposition to Barack Obama independently of McCain's efforts.

"If we do not act now," Martin says, "The closing days of the campaign could become an embarrassment to the Republican Party.

"Obama has reaped massive publicity from his upcoming network TV buys. Where was the McCain response? Has McCain planned network buys? Or is he going to forfeit the floor to Obama and instead assure people they have "nothing to fear but fear itself" from an Obama presidency, as he stated on Friday. Or make a McCain-style last minute effort?

"As someone with forty years in national and local broadcasting, I know TV takes planning. I have produced 30-minute shows. They can be complicated.

"McCain was silent when Obama dominated coverage last week with his network address announcements. If McCain has plans, where are they?

"I am in New York for the final planning stages of 'Operation Aloha Obama.' Those of us who genuinely believe that Obama is someone to fear, and that Obama is indeed a threat to our democracy, are launching Operation Aloha Obama to study the untilled fields of Obama's Hawaii years. We completely reject McCain's absurd claim that we have 'nothing to fear but fear itself' from an Obama presidency.

"I do not intend to wade ashore in Honolulu, Douglas McArthur-style, but I am leading the first investigators to land in Hawaii to examine Barack Obama's past. The media sent masses of investigators and reporters to Alaska. They have sent no one to Hawaii.

"I will be leading a team that has more investigative leads to pursue in Honolulu than McGarrett and Hawaii Five-O.

"Obama is the first presidential candidate from the Aloha State. But Obama almost never mentions Hawaii. Hawaii is the forgotten frontier in his life. He wants to pretend he is from Chicago. Obama may have learned his dirty tricks in Chicago, but he learned his lessons in life in Hawaii. We are going there to dig for the truth.
