2007-08-26 12:36:36 - While sexual disorders in men are widely discussed in public, there is hardly any room for sexual problems in women. The sexual dysfunction in women is very common; it affects women mentally and has a negative effect on their health and well-being. So far, doctors usually prescribed hormonal therapies and counselling. But the results were often not satisfactory.

According to a study among 1749 women which was conducted by Edward Laumann, sociologist at the University of Chicago in 1999, 43 per cent suffered from a sexual dysfunction. A survey conducted at the Charité in 2004 revealed that 90 percent of the questioned women have at least faked an orgasm once and moreover they only achieved an orgasm with

fifty percent of all of their partners. And the »Cologne 20 000 Community Survey« conducted by the Urological Clinic Cologne in 2003 reveals that nearly 60 percent of the questioned women said they suffered from a sexual disorder. (Die ZEIT Wissen 02/2006)

'Therefore, it is a common problem whose causes can often be found in anatomic variations and changes. Especially female sexual arousal disorders (FSAD) and orgasmic disorders go hand in hand with physical changes. When conventional treatments fail, new medical methods of genital surgery might help- says professor Gress, medical director at the Munich Medical Center of Sensualmedics AG.

Vaginal arousal disorders: They occur when the vagina was over-expanded by labour or changed due to aging or hormonal causes. Either the vagina can be tightened by surgery or autologous fat is injected. Both treatments decrease the lumen of the vaginal canal. Moreover, the pelvic floor can be tightened which also has a positive effect on a probably aconuresis.

Sexual arousal disorder of the clitoris: The most common anatomic variation is a large clitoral foreskin. A soon as this extra skin is tightened, the stimulation ability is increased enormously.

Sexual arousal disorders of the G-spot: The G-spot has a different sexual stimulation for each woman. If its volume is enlarged, it can lead to a significant increase of sexual arousal and improve the ability to reach an orgasm. The G-spot intensification is performed by a careful injection which enlarges and bulges the G-spot.

Professor Dr. Stefan Gress, the german specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery has already performed more than 1000 genital surgeries. -Genital surgery is far more than a visual alteration in the genital area. But it can only provide the optimal physical preconditions. These medical possibilities do not replace the interpersonal and emotional basis which is necessary for a satisfied sex life.-
