‘Ninety Eight Percent’, is produced by Glasgow’s Bad Pony Media, with its first complete hour long episode currently available online on all worldwide video and social networking web sites. The series focuses on the lives of the Spencer family, led by sociopath lesbian drug dealing bad girl Casey Spencer, played by Emma Ashby. She is joined by a sterling home-grown cast, including Cat Joss, Kev Jamieson, Vivien Taylor, Anne Marie Feeney and Jordan McCurrach. Its no-holds barred attitude and fast paced shooting style make it sure to be a
viral video hit around the world. The series promises to be “exciting and entertaining”, and “like nothing you have ever seen before” promises Executive Producer/Director Frank McGowan. With nine one-hour long episodes planned for its first season, the budget for each action packed episode is £30,000 – a mere drop in the ocean compared to a typical £400,000 per same produced for just regular television. Ninety Eight Percent aims to stay distinct from other shows of its kind, and is set to attract a huge audience being made available exclusively for free online, on-demand and via mobile. A plethora of interactive tools will also enhance the viewing experience, and accompany the series at its home on Bad Pony Media’s unique digital broadcast platform. The series’ producers are also keen to spread the world about the unique opportunity the broadcast platform and the series offers brands and advertisers to drive online awareness, and are currently seeking to secure a main sponsor for the show’s first season. “The series is going to offer everything a regular series drama on television would, and more,” promises McGowan. “The writing is just exceptional. It’s one that people are just going to have to keep watching. It’s a great opportunity for anyone wishing to come on board a really strong concept.”
With the recent seismic shift in internet age mass and the digital media revolution, this series comes at the right time, aiming to encapsulate a variety of age groups with diverse and provocative storylines and an eclectic mix of larger than life characters. The producers also assure strong focus on a variety of relevant topical issues, including homophobia, racism, and domestic violence.
The series is written by Michelle Martin, who also produces several episodes. Her acclaimed indie-rock band, Stutter Bunny, also provide the title theme, ‘The Psychopath Next Door”. The series features a collection of the best new and up and coming bands and artists as soundtrack to the series.
