www.researchandmarkets.com - Research and Markets (www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c90391) has announced the addition of New Zealand - Internet and ISP - Statistical Overview to their offering.
The New Zealand ISP market remains dominated by Telecom's Xtra and TelstraClear. Between them they control approximately 75% of the broadband market and 78% of the dial-up market. The next
tier of providers includes ihug and CallPlus, with the remainder of the market consisting of small resellers of Telecom's dial-up services. As this report reveals, the trend of ISP consolidation slowed during 2006, however moving into 2007 and 2008, commoditisation of products is likely to see the speed of ISP consolidation pick up once again. Fewer and fewer 2nd tier ISPs will be able to offer a complete range of ISP services with full, direct access to Telecom's fixed data network. Partnerships with outsourcing companies and equipment providers will become essential for ISPs from 2007 to 2010. Because of the high cost of creating national coverage, a number of ISPs are exploring ways to pool their resources for greater leverage and to deploy services more quickly. This report provides statistics on ISP subscribers and revenues and forecasting for 2007 and 2008.
