Plano, TX - CardsDirect, a leader in personalized greeting cards for consumers and companies ranging from small to Fortune 500 around the country, has unveiled a new recycled paper greeting card line aimed at encouraging companies and consumers alike to minimize their carbon footprint in time for the massive holiday card rush.
'Since we launched our new recycled greeting cards,
we've seen a spike in orders. In early September, we're tracking a 25% increase in overall sales compared to the same time period last year, which we attribute to the availability of new designs, printed on 100% recycled paper, complete with 100% recycled envelopes,' said Kevin Strawbridge, Vice President, Marketing of CardsDirect.
The company launched about 160 recycled cards in their line at the beginning of September and will reveal a brand new design every Monday through the end of the year. The cards include several designs for Holiday greetings, some with the use of the traditional 'recycle' logo. The Greeting Cards Association says holiday cards are the most popular Seasonal cards sent year-round, accounting for 60% of all Seasonal cards purchased.
'In the past two years we have witnessed a convergence in corporate environmental ethos and a complete tipping point in resistance to recycled paper goods. The quality of recycled paper has gotten better as a direct result of the quality of paper that has gone into the recycling pool,' added Strawbridge.
The cards are printed on the same 80-100 lb. card stock used in virgin paper cards and are available in both natural (brown kraft) and white paper with matching 100% recycled envelopes. Whereas customers have traditionally paid a premium for green paper products, CardsDirect is offering the cards at roughly $1 per card (depending on the quantity ordered) with minimum orders starting at 25, the same price as their existing collection.
Coming Soon-Photo Cards on Recycled Paper
In addition CardsDirect will introduce a photo card feature over the coming months, which allows customers to customize cards with their own photos and print these cards on recycled card stock for no additional cost. This feature is the first of its kind and will make CardsDirect the 'go-to company for green photo cards.'
