TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- As NHL players and owners continue their back-room negotiations, it may be too little, too late for many die-hard hockey fans. It could be good news for Lacrosse, however, according to a new poll by Canadian online travel leader FlightNetwork.com : www.flightnetwork.com/hotels/ .
Asked what fans are doing to fill the NHL void, 25.6% responded that they were locking out players on their Xbox NHL 2013 games. Others are filling the void as follows:

-- 26.3% are finally embracing Lacrosse as our National sport
-- If Gary Bettman starts walking with a limp, it may be because 20.1% are
busying themselves making Voodoo dolls of him and Donald Fehr
-- 16.0% are going back to church... for the organ music
-- Surprisingly, only 11.9% are dressing up their grandpas in crazy jackets
and forcing them to yell nonsense at them on Saturday nights

When asked what they are REALLY doing to fill the void, an overwhelming 40.3% said they're too angry to watch anything hockey-related:

-- 22.9% are watching classic game reruns on TV
-- 22.7% are anxiously awaiting the World Juniors tournament
-- 7.6% are picking up tickets for their local AHL teams
-- 6.5% are following their favourites in various Euro leagues

In typical, diplomatic Canadian : www.flightnetwork.com/destinations/Canada.shtml fashion, when asked who's to blame for the lockout, 54.1% said both sides share equally in the blame. Those willing to take a stand were almost evenly split, with 21.2% blaming the owners vs. 21.5% blaming the players.
