While over half of the $7B IT operations management software market is spent on IT infrastructure monitoring and management, many solutions are expensive and add a significant layer of complexity. KANSHI BlockS Pro, in contrast, is a new approach to this large market, offering a low-cost, extremely reliable monitoring server with no moving parts that can be easily configured and installed in minutes. Roughly the size of a coffee mug (4.5'' x 3.2'' x 1.5''), it can fit virtually anywhere. "We've developed a system for filming sporting events at international competitions and delivering video to a client machine in real-time. Equipment malfunctions need to be noticed instantly. However, the users of the monitoring system include specialists and non-specialists, so it can't be technically hard to use. It also has to be highly portable," said Dr. Mitsugu Kakuta of the Tokyo Institute of Technology's Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering. "We didn't have big budgets and spacious equipment vans that we could use. Without KANSHI BlockS Pro to work with, our system could not be built. There was simply no comparable solution on the market in the same low price range and with the same functionality as KANSHI BlockS."
