A nature artist opens her colorful exhibit at Finger Lakes Gallery and Frame April 18th 2008. Susan Prislopski Dicken's show, titled 'Coming out of the studio' will begin Friday April 18th with a reception with the artist from 5pm to 9pm, and continues through May 10th. The exhibit and reception are free.
Susan Prislopski Dickens has been painting since childhood, ever since her father, an avid artist himself, inspired her. Years later, her 7th grade art teacher
armed her with brushes and watercolors and encouraged her to continue painting for her summer break. Her talent to interpret nature is unique, with captive paintings such as November, October, which feature landscapes and foliage, to Mary's Lemons, a colorful watercolor on paper that captures the light reflected from everyday objects. 'I see snapshots of paintings all the time,' she said. Glimpses and images capture her imagination while walking, driving, and other daily activities.
Her limited editions are printed on the highest quality and acid free media. Her work is available in prints, small and large paintings, in acrylic and watercolor.
