2013-10-24 06:46:18 - Saturday's matchup between two Nevada schools has solid trends all pointing in one direction says Vegas Experts
Past history has a number of key trends that favor the Nevada Wolf Pack in it Mountain West Conference in-state matchup against the UNLV Running Rebels, according to the sports handicapping website Vegas Experts.
The two teams have met annually since 1997 says the website, but in each of the last eight games between the two schools, Nevada has come away with the victory. In addition, the Wolf Pack has beaten the Las Vegas betting line in this matchup seven of 10 times since 2003, including 4-1 as a favorite.
In this upcoming game, Nevada has been designated a 6.5-point home favorite after coming off a 34-17 road loss last Saturday to the Boise State Broncos. In 2013, the Wolf Pack has
a 2-1 record versus the pointspread, the only blemish coming in a 45-42 victory over the Air Force Academy in which it was favored by 11 points.
That status as a single-digit favorite at home also works in Nevada’s favor, since the team has managed to compile an 11-3 record versus the Las Vegas betting line under such circumstances dating back to 2004.
UNLV is also coming off a 38-14 loss to the Fresno State Bulldogs, a game in which it covered the 25-point betting line as a heavy underdog. However, the Running Rebels have been one of the weakest teams in college football when it comes to sports handicapping when playing its next game following a defeat. Since 2009, the team has just a 12-24-1 record against the pointspread.
