A US hardware store has removed a display of gingerbread Nazis after customers complained.
Shop owner Charlie Palmer asked their creator Keith McGuckin to remove the display after being inundated with complaints from furious residents.
Palmer said: "He's gone way overboard this time. A few of his other displays were on the edge, but never that crazy." McGuckin insists his display was not offensive, saying: "I can differentiate between real Nazis and the atrocities they performed, compared to these little gingerbread men." However Palmer has decided to leave McGuckin's festive window display which shows a suicidal snowman sitting under a hairdryer.
Last year McGuckin used the store to showcase a "carol-bashing" snowman and a little boy who was excited about using his new chemistry set to make the illegal drug crystal meth.
