Natural Gas Vehicles: A Movement Towards Greener Future

2014-04-06 08:45:47 - Leading by example UAE has been implementing and promoting Natural Gas run vehicles and have successfully converted a large section of their public transport into NGVs.

The growth that is being witnessed by the Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) market in the Middle East, is a result of initiatives taken to reduce the biggest concerns, that nations today are facing due to CO2 emission espcially from Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDV). The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has the highest number of CNG filling stations in the entire Middle East. Sharjah Transport is planning to convert 3,200 cabs to CNG starting 2015. As Middle East is getting ready to move towards cleaner source of fuel, the Middle East NGV Summit will respond to this current development in the natural gas market.

The summit will bring together a plethora of distinguished and esteemed individuals from the NGV industry across the Middle

East as well as global. The 3 day summit will provide recommendations on opting the best strategies, proposing advancing innovations & tailor made solutions to the region’s challenges and will be held under the theme, “Strategies, Policies & Technologies” on 8 - 10 September 2014 at Abu Dhabi, UAE. To drive the NGV industry from government agencies, policy makers will talk about their plans on how to encourage the industry in the region.

Hesham Ali Mostafa who is the Sr. Director, Gas Marketing, ENOC Group & General Manager at Emirates Gas LLC.and Mohammed Yousif Saleh, Director Fleet Operation from Dubai Taxi Corporation, U.A.E will deliver the keynote address at the Middle East NGV Summit. Fazal Ali Khan, CNG Development Manager at Emirates Gas LLC (ENOC Group), Eng. Mahir Al Sayed Ali, Abu Dhabi Technical Services Centre Manager from Emirates Transport, Taufiq Tai, Operation Expert representing Dubai Taxi Corporation Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) and other industry experts have confirmed their participation as speakers at the summit.

TUV Rheinland who will be partnering the summit as workshop leader will conduct a workshop on local regulations based on international standards for NGV. The worshop will help attendees understand the regulations made and implemented by the government bodies to ensure that the equipments and technology being used is at par with international standards. The summit is open to oil & gas companies, ministries, municipalities, airlines, regulatory authorities, NGV standards certification bodies and others.
