A perfect mind and body remedy for the fall season, the Onsen Treatment provides an escape from the chaos, allowing the body to heal and detoxify.

Housing one of only a handful of

authentic Japanese Onsen Tubs in the United States, MIHS encourages its guests to experience the hydrating and healing effects the treatment provides for the body, combined with a soothing effect for the mind.

MIHS’ Onsen Treatment : starts with a clay wrap – featuring antioxidant and nutrient rich clays massaged onto the body. A heated blanket keeps the clays from drying out, allowing nutrients to work on the skin.

After the clays are removed, guests experience the therapeutic benefits of a traditional Japanese Onsen soak, a procedure believed since ancient times to ease muscle and joint pain, relieve fatigue, reduce stress and dramatically soften skin. The Onsen Tub itself resembles a small, upright hot tub and features easily adjustable water temperature and bubble jets. As with traditional Onsen tubs, the guest sits upright. A customized blend of minerals and essential oils are added to the water in the tub to soften skin and soothe senses.

Each Onsen Treatment ends with a 50 minute Murad Signature Massage designed to release any of the body’s lingering stress that might remain after the first two healing and therapeutic elements of the treatment.

The Onsen Treatment is currently offered at MIHS for $195 for a 110-minute session. Alternatively, a 20-minute Onsen Soak can be added to any other Murad spa treatment for $35.
