Munich American Re Appoints Leader for Individual Life Department

www.marclife.com - Munich American Reassurance Company, one of the leading life reinsurance companies in the United States, announced the appointment of Michael S. Taht, FSA, FCIA, MAAA, as Senior Vice President, Life Reinsurance.

Mr. Taht joins Munich American from Tillinghast's Atlanta office where he was Principal Partner. Lloyd Steinke, Executive Vice President at Munich American Re commented, "Due to his extensive experience in actuarial consulting and the work he has done in life reinsurance, Mike brings us unique skills and knowledge that enable us to build on our already strong presence as a life reinsurer." Mr. Taht is an acknowledged expert in mortality trends, having worked on development of the 2001 CSO Table and on capital market transactions, and

will work closely with another recent appointment, Scott Boug, Senior Vice President, Financial Solutions, in developing capital management solutions for Munich American clients.

Munich American's Life Reinsurance Department is responsible for Individual Life Marketing, Pricing, Mortality Research and Treaty writing and analysis. All of these areas will report directly to Mr. Taht.

Mr. Taht is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is an active and visible member of the actuarial community, serving on the SOA nominating committee and as treasurer of the Southeast Actuaries Conference.
