- Horn Group Jason Brown, 646-202-9759 jbrown@horngroup.com Move Networks, the leading provider of Internet television services, today announced that Microsoft has joined Move Networks' Series C funding round as a strategic investor. Microsoft's investment follows a previous announcement that Move Networks will work with Microsoft so that its Internet television services work seamlessly with Microsoft Silverlight, a cross-browser, multiplatform plug-in

With this strategic relationship, Microsoft Silverlight users can now experience high-quality, skip-free Internet television programming powered by Move Networks adaptive streaming technology. In addition, Move Networks' customers can use Microsoft Silverlight to place unique branding, navigation and other rich interactive elements in and around their Internet television video streams.

By integrating their services with Microsoft's Silverlight technology, Move Networks' strengthens its ability to offer media companies and other publishers the most powerful and flexible end-to-end solution available for the delivery of high-quality, engaging Internet television programming.

The first demonstration of this collaboration can be viewed this week, as the Democratic National Committee uses Microsoft's Silverlight technology and Move Networks' Internet television services to deliver viewers live video from its 2008 convention in Denver. Viewers can watch live coverage online by visiting the Democratic Convention Web site and clicking on www.demconvention.com.

"Microsoft's Silverlight technology helps our customers add navigation and branding elements to their Internet television programming," said John Edwards, CEO of Move Networks.
