MoneyGram International Temporarily Reduces Money Transfer Fees from the United States and Canada to El Salvador

MoneyGram International (NYSE:MGI), a leading global money transfer company, announced today that it would temporarily reduce its money transfer service fee from all U.S. and Canada agent locations to El Salvador from Nov. 18 to Dec. 2. MoneyGram offered the temporary fee reductions in the days after Hurricane Ida to support Salvadorans recover from this deadly storm.

By temporarily reducing fees, we’re working to help

families deliver more funds for the essential needs of their loved ones in El Salvador.”

Beginning Nov. 18, customers in the U.S. and Canada can send up to $1,000 to El Salvador for only $8.50* from any agent location, including, ACE Cash Express, Advance America, Canada Post, CVS/pharmacy, Duane Reade, Walmart and the SuperValu locations operating under a variety of brands including ACME, Albertsons, bigg's, Bristol Farms, Cub Foods, Farm Fresh, Jewel-Osco, Lucky, Shaws Star Market, Shop'n Save and SHOPPERS. In the U.S., customers can send up to $899 online from www.moneygram.com : for the same low fee.

Our goal is to provide families more choices to maximize the funds that could be sent directly to their loved ones to support the unique needs that arise following a disaster.”

In El Salvador, MoneyGram customers can collect their money transfer funds at any of the Citi branches or other locations, including Banco Agricola, Banco Azteca, Banco Promerica, Elektra, Fedecaces, Fedecredito and Scotiabank.
