Mobility.mobi is a developer and domain name owner forum for the creation and promotion of web sites specially designed to display on any mobile phone, not just a smartphone, iPhone or BlackBerry. Instead of ending in .com, these sites end in .mobi (think of "mobile" and leave out the -le at the end).

Kolman, the winning dot mobi site is a great way to let people know what the mobile internet has to offer. "I think once people know what is possible on a .mobi site like the ones featured on mobienthusiast.mobi, we will see a lot more development of these names. Most people are going online to the mobile internet for the first time, and when a developer goes through the trouble to make sure the site validates for mobile phones, we'll see increased trust by visitors to .mobi sites because they will load properly on their phones, unlike a .com which can freeze the phone's browser and incur heavy data charges."

MobiEnthusiast.mobi is "your tour guide for the mobile internet" and "showcases the mobile internet and reviews mobile websites that offer great content and meet developer requirements to load on your phone," reads the description of the winning mobile website. It uses Wordpress and the Wordpress mobile plugin by developer Andy Moore, and is available as both a desktop and mobile internet version. It scores a fully-compliant 5/5 on ready.mobi, a validation tool that determines whether a site can be viewed properly on a mobile phone.

Mobi of the Month is an important part of recognizing developed mobile websites, believes mobility.mobi founder Andres Kello.
