2013-03-09 18:07:03 - MIRA TELECOM participated with two presentations on security themes at the symposium “80 years of Civil Protection in Romania”, dedicated to the Civil Protection Day, organized at the Cultural Center of M.A.I. The Civil Protection Day was celebated at local level also by the general inspectorates for emergency situations, through demonstative exercises and applications, exhibitions and cultural- sports manifestations.

Within the symposium, Gabriel Ionescu – the General Deputy Director of MIRA TELECOM held a presentation regarding a new tracing system based on the measurement of the signals sent by the mobile phones. The project is developed by MIRA TELECOM, in collaboration with another eight European partners.

Andrei Floroiu - Software Architect MIRA TELECOM presented a software platform for the integrated security management, which integrates multiple systems: video surveillance (analogic and IP), intrusion detection and warning, access control, fire detection and warning, fire extinction, GIS (Geographic Information System) and industrial automatizations.

In Romania, Civil Protection is a component of the national security system and was established through the royal Decree issued by king Carol the 2nd, on February 28th 1933

under the name of “passive defense” having as purpose “the limitation of the air strike effects on the population or the territory resources, through direct protection or by reducing the efficiency of air strikes.”

The main attributions of civil protection are: identifying existing risks in various areas, preventive information and preparation of the population regarding the dangers to which it is exhibited and the conduct rules, organizing the intervention in emergency situations, warning the population about the danger imminence, removing the negative effects of the disasters and cleaning the territory of unexploded ammunition from the army conflicts.
