Minister Raitt Congratulates Air Canada and the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association on Reaching a Tentative Agreement

OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/14/12 -- Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, congratulated Air Canada and the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association on reaching a new tentative collective agreement.

"I would like to commend Air Canada and the Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association for maintaining strong labour-management relations during a period of economic fragility," said Minister Raitt. "I am very pleased that the parties worked diligently together to reach a tentative agreement and look forward to its ratification."
The Canadian Airline Dispatchers Association represents a unit of approximately 75 flight dispatchers who are responsible for flight planning and monitoring. Their previous collective agreement expired on March 31, 2011.
