OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board and Minister responsible for FedNor, today tabled in the House of Commons the 2011-12 Departmental Performance Reports on behalf of 95 federal departments and agencies. These Reports provide information on the results achieved by government organizations based on the commitments made the previous year in the annual Reports on Plans and Priorities.

"The 2011-12 Departmental Performance Reports are one of several mechanisms we use to inform Canadians about how government invests taxpayers' money," said Minister Clement. "These reports demonstrate our Government's commitment to accountability, transparency and results for Canadians."
Each department and agency prepares a Departmental Performance Report at the end of the fiscal year to inform parliamentarians and Canadians on how they performed against the plans and expected results set out in their annual Reports on Plans and Priorities : www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/ems-sgd/esp-pbc/rpp-eng.asp .
This year, the Government launched an electronic reporting pilot project. Four departments produced their 2011-12 Departmental Performance Reports in HTML only. This demonstrates the Government's continued efforts to reduce costs while making sure Canadians have access to the information they need.
The Government of Canada is continuing to deliver on its commitment for a more cost-effective, environmentally friendly and modern way of doing business while maintaining a high level of accountability.
