Meta Byte Technologies, a next generation technology consulting company, has announced of its successful sponsorship and participation at IDC’s Middle East CIO Summit 2014. The 7th edition of the event, which was held under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE's Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, saw over 300 senior technology decision makers in attendance.

The two-day event, which was held at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai on February 24 and 25, 2014, saw Meta Byte Technologies sponsoring the event as its Gold Sponsor. At the event, Meta Byte Technologies’ executives spoke about a wide range of solutions such as data center consolidation, data governance, product and services road-mapping, information risk management, and enterprise governance risk

and compliance, among others.

This year's event theme Seize the Moment: Transform, Innovate, and Collaborate was an ideal platform for CIOs and industry leaders to exchange thoughts on the upcoming information technology trends. The event saw delegates drawn from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, and Iraq. Overall, the event represented the largest social network of CIOs, IT thought leaders, and vendors in the Middle East, thus allowing attendees and exhibitors alike to explore the pivotal role of the CIO in the new business world of technology transformation.

The 300+ delegates in attendance represented a total of 13 diverse industry sectors, including banking and financial services, government, oil and gas, construction and real estate, utilities, and healthcare. As a consequence of this remarkably broad vertical representation, IDC customized the learning experience by introducing a series of industry-specific sessions that deal with the unique challenges faced by CIOs operating in these individual sectors. IDC also enabled a more formal structure for the immense networking opportunities available at the Summit, facilitating an incredible 248 CIO-to-vendor meetings, 267 CIO-to-analyst meetings, and 274 CIO-to-CIO meetings across both days.

“The event also saw a panel discussion take place, titled ‘Envisioning a new approach to information security’. From Meta Byte technologies’ perspective, we spoke about the importance of unstructured data’s role in leading to data governance. The panel discussion explored opportunities and challenges today related to date governance strategies. We had some constructive discussions with some key companies from the region, such as Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and so on,” added Mr. Dighe. “Most of the companies we spoke to, appreciated our approach in understanding their key business challenges and are hence interested in working with us in solving those issues through strategies we have suggested.”
