For its 20 th year of exhibiting at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Merge Healthcare (NASDAQ: MRGE), a leading health IT solutions provider, has prepared an educational line-up designed to give attendees access to the people and technologies that are moving imaging IT in new directions. First, Merge is conducting training sessions on its CADstream® applications in #VCW1, Hall
D. Led by a team of radiologists proficient in MR-CAD, these classes will educate clinicians on the use of MR-CAD for breast, prostate and liver.
Classes have been fully reserved through RSNA, but a limited number of complimentary tickets remain at www.merge.com/rsna :

.
In addition to the training center, Merge will also hold a series of presentations at its booth, #5619, Hall A. Topics include patient engagement, mobile devices and imaging, the impact of reimbursement changes, image processing tools, and legacy PACS integration. Allscripts and InSite One will be joining Merge to discuss Electronic Health Records and Hospital Information Exchange integration. The American College of Radiology and other imaging policy leaders will be holding a panel discussion on stimulus legislation and its impact on radiology.
Radiologists will provide clinical and business perspectives on CAD and web portal technologies. The World Health Imaging, Telemedicine and Informatics Alliance (WHITIA) will also be on hand to unveil their new concept for global access to x-ray. Many of the aforementioned sessions will be repeated in Chinese. A complete schedule of these presentations, titled Merge Movies, can be found at www.merge.com/rsna :

“Over the past year, Merge has evolved into a new and exciting company focused on bringing leading edge technology to healthcare IT,” says Justin Dearborn, Merge CEO. “We believe the combination of our training classes, booth presentations and demonstrations will provide the radiology community with many options to learn about new imaging solutions.”
Attendees can also set up “private screenings” for new products, such as.
eFilm for iPhone*: Many physicians rely on their mobile devices for communication. This “app” lets radiologists also use their Apple iPhone™ or iPod® Touch to interface directly with their eFilm Workstation® and manage imaging tasks from as little as five feet away or from anywhere in the world. Merge is pleased to have a limited number of applications available in the booth for direct download.
CADstream for Improved Analysis and Interpretation of Liver MRI Studies*: Merge is highlighting the first CAD application for liver, adding to the current breast and prostate CADstream applications that are used by thousands of clinicians worldwide for fast, easy and reliable MRI study analysis and interpretation. CADstream’s liver application improves workflow through automated motion correction, kinetic analysis, liver and lesion segmentation, image fusion, reporting and more. Merge recently received FDA clearance for diffusion imaging, which is an important factor in liver and prostate MRI study analysis.
CADstream applications will also be on display within the Fusion PACS™ solution as well as the Cedara I-ReadMammo™ solution for integrated radiologist worklist management.
