ANAHEIM, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/14/13 -- The National Association of Women Business Owners-Orange County : ctt.marketwire.com/?release=974043&id=2477350&type=1& ..
(NAWBO-OC), the premier organization for Orange County women business owners, is now accepting applications for the 2013 NAWBO-OC Mentoring Program. The program is an extension of NAWBO-OC's "No woman stands alone" philosophy and was created to empower, encourage and support women-owned businesses by giving them the tools to create strength and sustainability in their businesses.
Created by Dee Elliott of Dee Elliott Consulting, the NAWBO-OC Mentoring Program is entering its 10th year of helping to position its members for profits, power and the passionate pursuit of excellence. More than 300 Orange County women have taken part in the program, and with nearly 50 participants each year, the Mentoring Program is NAWBO-OC's largest program and boasts some of the most celebrated local business women as mentors.
The NAWBO-OC Mentoring Program partners women with carefully selected and experienced mentors for an eight-month program designed to help Orange County business women maximize personal and professional success. The program includes 24 hours of private mentoring, attendance at three private networking events and three topical training sessions, as well as access to exclusive resources including more than 100 documents and templates to assist with different aspects of business operations from strategic planning and goal-setting, to marketing and sales, to human resources issues and best practices.
"The NAWBO-OC Mentoring Program is an opportunity for women to benefit from one-on-one consultation and personal support from qualified executives and business coaches," says Rachel Owens, associate director of the NAWBO-OC Mentoring Program and principal Succession Strategies. "There are several factors that contribute to the program's overall success: Our comprehensive matching platform ensures mutual satisfaction between the mentees and their mentors and that their skills, needs and values align appropriately; the consistency of leadership and structure provided by the program's founder, Dee Elliott, has allowed for continual improvement without loss of continuity; and the relationships formed and success achieved keeps our top mentors coming back. Year after year, this program has provided a network of support to help women reach their full potential and maximize business success."
Past mentees have expressed the value in having a formal mentor available to provide the knowledge and guidance necessary to overcome the challenges of growing a business, to help develop and reinforce the ability to reach small and large milestones, and to instill confidence and focus in reaching their professional goals. Mentees must be NAWBO-OC members, and many new members cite access to the Mentoring Program as their primary reason for joining the organization.
