People often say, you do not know who your friends are until the night is the darkest. Britney might be finding this out as she is receiving help and support from an unlikely source. Mel Gibson and Britney were seen dining in Studio City at The Romanov, which is a Russian style restaurant where they dined on filet. The group

consisting of Britney, her pal Victoria, Gibson, his wife and other companions dined together in a lavish private dining room. Gibson most likely paid; Britney only is allowed $1,500 per week.

It is unclear the exact details of the conversation, but upon leaving, Britney was in a cheerful mood and looked happy, according to sources. The meeting lasted for several hours with Spears’ and Gibson’s party showing up and leaving separately, but no doubt met. Why Mel Gibson? Gibson and Spears were neighbors at one point in time in an exclusive Malibu community. Or perhaps, Britney just watched a Gibson film and thinks he knows “What Women Want?” Help and support, no matter from who, where it feels like it is the world against you is always welcome. For some reason they are seeing a mutual understanding in Britney’s situation of essentially living in a fishbowl.

Aside from offering moral support, let us all hope that Gibson and Spears do not work together on an upcoming film. The mixing of “talent” could possibly be a Joan of Arc with choreographed dance moves in chainmail. Maybe Britney could shave her head again and be in a new Mad Max movie. That would definitely be worth seeing.
