The speech, November 1st, 2013, covered how to:
Identify why it is important to perform regular Medical Record Audits (MRA).
Describe how performing MRA reduces liability for the practice generally and physicians specifically.
Demonstrate how performing MRA can improve collections for a practice by making sure patient encounters are coded at the correct level.
Identify what is included in a typical MRA and who usually performs it.
Use criteria to find an external expert to perform the audit and to internally identify what processes a physician and/or staff member can perform.
