MEDIA ADVISORY: New Study: Economic Costs of Diabetes in the U.S. in 2012

WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 02/20/13 -- The American Diabetes Association (Association), Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) and Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), co-chairs of the Senate Diabetes Caucus will hold a joint press conference on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. to release a new study that examines the economic cost of diagnosed diabetes in the U.S. The study, commissioned by the Association, was last collected in 2007 and released in 2008. The updated results will address the increased financial burden, health resources used and lost productivity associated with diabetes in 2012.
