Max Capital Group Ltd. (NASDAQ:MXGL; BSX:MXGL BH) today announced the appointment of Timothy Rowan as Senior Vice President, Professional Liability for Max Managers USA Ltd., a managing general underwriter principally for Max Specialty Insurance Company.
W. Marston (Marty) Becker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Max Capital, said: "Tim is an important addition to our team. As the senior Professional Liability
underwriter for Max Managers, he is expected to build a book of middle market business that fits neatly between the large accounts written by our Professional Liability team in Bermuda and the smaller accounts that will be written by Max Specialty’s newly formed Professional Liability unit. Tim has a wealth of experience in this marketplace, valuable connections, and a track record of producing profitable business."
Timothy Rowan has more than sixteen years of Professional Liability underwriting and broking experience, since 2005 as an Underwriter for Beazley Group plc, where he was responsible for managing and growing a book of large and mid-sized law firm E&O accounts. From 2000 to 2005, Tim was Senior Vice President of Marsh’s Financial and Professional Services Practice (FINPRO), where he placed D&O, E&O and related lines for multinational accounts. Previously, Tim was Assistant Vice President at Chubb & Son Inc. He has also practiced as an insurance attorney with Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker and with Fraterrigo, Best & Beranek.
Tim graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree from University of Illinois at Champaign in 1984, and with a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law in 1987.
