New Consumer Goods market report from Business Monitor International: "Turkey Consumer Electronics Report Q1 2012"
Turkey's domestic consumer electronic device market, defined as the addressable market for computing devices, mobile handsets and video, audio and gaming products, is projected to be worth about US$10.3bn in 2012. Demand is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.0% to US$17.0bn by 2016, driven by growing popularity of digital lifestyle devices such as LCD TV sets, notebook computers and digital cameras, as well as rising incomes and lower prices.
In 2011 the consumer electronic market benefited from the strong purchasing power of the Turkish consumer. However, there was some evidence that authorities' attempts to curb demand and limit credit growth by use of macroprudential measures was beginning to work. Consumer loan growth had already begun
to show signs of moderation, albeit modest, by mid-2011.
