2013-10-08 21:12:17 - Specialist 3D cell culture company Reinnervate Ltd today announced that has launched a range of new Alvetex® 3D cell culture products for the maintenance of intact tissue slices in vitro.
Sedgefield, UK. October 2013
Alvetex® Strata is a new 3D cell culture product that supports the in vitro growth of intact tissue slices and structures such as embryoid bodies (EB’s). The highly porous, inert polystyrene membrane acts as a support for tissue slice and EB’s to prevent their movement during real-time imaging experiments and to provide excellent nutrient and gas exchange from beneath and above the tissue.
‘We have launched these new Alvetex products to address some very specific needs presented to us by our customers’ commented Prof. Stefan Przyborski, CSO and founder of Reinnervate Ltd. ‘The need to better maintain the viability of tissue slices and EB’s for analytical methods such as time-lapse imaging and alternatives to in vivo teratoma assays
is important to many scientists. The ability of our new Alvetex Strata well inserts to support these structures for long periods but also to prevent them moving and to stabilise them during media changes makes for a very useful new tool’ he added.
Richard Rowling, commercial director of Reinnervate commented, ‘Alvetex Strata is now launched and available for sale from our global distributor network. We look forward to launching more applications for this new product line in the coming months’.
