2009-11-26 12:11:30 - Luton sixth formers were introduced to the world of business this week

, as ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) played the educational game ‘BigHand.biz’ with students from Luton Sixth Form College. The event was part of a combined initiative from ACCA and Inspiring Futures that aims to introduce students to the world of business.

Justine Frost, business relationship manager - student promotions at ACCA UK, said:

‘BigHand.biz is a game that was developed by Inspiring Futures in conjunction with ACCA. In the game, the students are divided into groups of five and form the board of directors for fictional company ‘BigHand.biz’. Each student is assigned a different role within the board, and their decisions decide the direction of the game.’

Most of the students rated the day as ‘fantastic’, and among the

benefits of the day they mentioned that they had learned “how to manage money" and “how external factors affect the business."
