2013-08-21 13:37:28 - Die Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen
(Long Night of Munich Museums)
Saturday, 19th October 2013 from 19:00 till 02:00
NEW: This year the Long Night of Munich Museums includes also museums in the surroundings of Munich.
If during Saturday night of the third weekend in October thousands of people stroll around the corners with little booklets in their hands, if buses crowded with people cross the streets and the museums are enlightened throughout the night, everyone will know: The Lange Nacht der Münchner Museen (Long Night of Munich Museums) is on.
About 90 Munich museums, collections, galleries and churches invite visitors to explore Munichs museums and art by night!
Not only the routine exhibitions can be visited – a large number of participant museums offer special programs, such as specially guided tours, concerts or performance art: the diversity during this night is unique.
Between 14:00 and 18:00 a pleasurable special program for children with handicraft work
and special guided tour is offered. And if you find the Lange Nacht too short you are welcome to the party in the night club Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
Central point is the Odeonsplatz: here you can get food & drinks, information around the event, board all five different bus services and boost yourself for the marathon through the museums.
The Kombiticket costs 15,- Euro and includes access to participating museums as well as the usage of the MVG-shuttle buses and the MVV in the whole pay scale area.
No matter if fan of technics or painting, you can arrange your favourite tour or drift along your curiosity.
With the shuttle service of the MVG you can reach all museums easily. The busses go every 10 minutes. Additionally, the line Zentral connects the big museums in the inner city. Programs and tickets are available from mid of September onwards and can be purchased at the common ticket agencies or from all participating museums.
