2009-11-07 22:01:52 - A campaign for free WiFi in hotels has just been launched by London Hotels Insight. It is gaining strong support via Twitter and social media as travellers say "no" to expensive hotel WiFi charges.

The London Hotels Insight blog which provides unique “inside information” on London hotels, has just announced a campaign to persuade hoteliers in London to provide completely free WiFi to their guests.

A listing has been published at www.londonhotelsinsight.com of the capital’s leading hotels (as independently-ranked by TripAdvisor guest reviews) which do currently provide free WiFi.

The website’s founder, Mr Rajul Chande (published

author of “At Your Service”, which features interviews with Sir Rocco Forte and other top hoteliers), made the following statement:

“I know from my daily interactions on the London Hotels Insight Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/londonhoteltips) that people are tired of hotel WiFi fees, especially if already paying a hefty room rate. By publishing an up-to-date list of ‘the good guys’ – hotels that provide WiFi free of charge – I hope that other London hotels will follow suit. Those that continue to charge £5-£20 per day for WiFi access must realise this is no longer viable".

The London Hotels Insight listing of free WiFi hotels also takes account of TripAdvisor rankings, given the critical role that online reviews play in helping consumers find their ideal London hotel.

As Chande adds: “We have no wish to support mediocre hotels just because they provide free WiFi. By only listing hotels already recognised by guests to offer great value for money, our aim is to help them further build their reputation and business in these challenging times.”

This is in line with the overall philosophy of the London Hotels Insight blog, which is to focus exclusively on hotels that receive consistently excellent guest reviews.
