www.umrg.com/ - Universal Motown Records Kimberly Harris, 212-373-0701 Kimberly.Harris@umusic.com One of music's golden young voices just got a heavy new shine, as The Inc./Universal Motown hip-hop singer/songwriter LLOYD's new single, "How We Do It" featuring special guest LUDACRIS, conquers two radio formats in its first week of release.

This unconventional but powerfully rhythmic, fathoms-deep

track is by far the No. 1 most-added record nationally at Rhythm Crossover, and among the most-added at Urban-formatted radio. "How We Do It", co-written by Lloyd with Wood Works, and produced by Inglewood, California upstart team Baby Boy and Superkidd, fires up high anticipation - to say the least - around his third album, LESSONS IN LOVE, scheduled for release on July 15, 2008.

Lloyd is mid-stream in a solid career growth mode: his 2007 album, Street Love, which debuted at No. 2 on both the national Billboard Top 200 album chart and the R&B/Hip-Hop album chart, was certified gold within eight weeks of its release, and spun off two major smashes: "You" featuring Lil Wayne, an R&B/Hip-Hop No.1 one and Top 10 pop hit; and "Get It Shawty," a No. 4 R&B/Hip-Hop track and Top 20 Hot 100 entry.

Lloyd's upcoming LESSONS IN LOVE is shaping up as a true take-off moment, confirming the breadth of Lloyd's talent and striking the same diverse and balanced mix of club joints and mellow balladry as the gold-plus Street Love, with a top-tier list of collaborators. The seductive "Lose Control" features superstar Nelly; the red-hot roster of production hands on the project include Tricky and The-Dream (Mary J. Blige, J. Holiday, Rihanna); Polow Da Don (Usher, Nelly, Fergie); J-Lack ("Get it Shawty"); Jasper and Big Reese (Mario, Mariah Carey) and Eric Hudson (Kanye West).

New Orleans-born and Atlanta-raised, Lloyd made his chart debut in 2004 with the hit collaboration "South Side," with multi-platinum label mate Ashanti. On the small screen, he was recently featured in the recent VH-1 reality show, Gotti's Way.
