The special segments highlight the sold out World Premiere screening and after-party that hosted surf icons, including Greg
Noll, David Nu'uhiwa, Sunny Garcia, Todd Hannigan, Tom Curren, Mick Kelleher, Mary Osborne, Russell Smith, Tyler Smith, Drew Kampion and Jed Noll, among others.
In other news, the film is screening as an official selection of the third annual Santander Surf Film Festival in Spain, in the Opening Night line-up on Wednesday, November 19, 2008.
There will also be a special screening of the film on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Saint Rocke Cafe (www.saintrocke.com) in Hermosa Beach, accompanied by a live performance from surfer/musician Timmy Curran.
The documentary "LIVE: A Music and Surfing Experience" features interviews and music from surfer/musician icons, including Jackson Browne and Jack Johnson, as well as commentary and footage of surfing greats Greg Noll, Kelly Slater, Gerry Lopez, Dane Reynolds, Jordy Smith and Mick Fanning, to name just a few. The film guides viewers through the history of the harmonious nature between surf culture and the world of music, featuring songs by artists particularly influential to core surfers, like Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Makaha Sons Of Ni'ihau, T.S.O.L. and Pennywise, among others.
"LIVE" was released on DVD in September in conjunction with a surf pro-studded World Premiere (
