Print article Print article
2010-02-16 08:25:16 - Lifetree Adventures announces a new Christian travel option to Alaska for 2010. Part vacation and part Christian service, the new Alaska itinerary combines the best of adventure and volunteering.

Loveland, CO, February 16, 2010 --

Part Vacation
Stand atop a glacier, hike in Denali National Park, and catch a glimpse of the tallest mountain in North America, Mt. McKinley. Travelers will go to Begich Boggs (Portage Valley) and ride a tram in Girdwood to the top of the mountain for lunch and a hike.

Part Christian Service
As America’s last frontier, Alaska is a state rich in rugged beauty, abundant wildlife and natural resources. But not all Alaskans have shared in the state’s prosperity. People living in remote villages, still holding to their time-honored traditions lack many basic services. This is especially hard on the elderly as they prepare each summer for the punishing winter to come.

While in Alaska, travelers will form

unforgettable relationships with the indigenous people, experience village life firsthand as they offer practical service repairing homes, helping with household chores and providing much needed companionship to those in need. In addition to their service to the people here, volunteers will learn to appreciate their fascinating traditions, and they will experience the love of Christ in tangible, memorable ways.

Itinerary for Alaska Christian Travel Option:

DAY 1 Arrive in Anchorage and transfer to hotel

DAY 2 Depart in the morning for a day hike in Alyeska and Girdwood. Visit an animal sanctuary in the afternoon
