2014-02-23 13:50:48 - LatAm Rail Opportunities 2014 will attempt to support the momentum of the infrastructure development plans by propagating a healthy discussion on various facets that are withholding the progress of rail development in the region.
National development bank BNDES has decided to finance around 60% of the Rio de Janeiro-Sao Paulo-Campinas bullet train project initiative. Despite the delay, the project has high ranking in the federal government's agenda because construction of a railway is far more cheaper than a new highway or an airport. Head of Transport Planning Department Secretariat and Deputy Secretary for National Transport Policy Brazil, Francisco Luiz Baptista da Costa will elaborate on new opportunities in rail infrastructure investment with the Logistics Investment Program at the 2nd LatAm Rail Opportunities 2014. The summit will be held on 18 - 19 March 2014 at Hilton Sao Paulo Morumbi, Brazil.
Railway Infrastructure Director from National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) - Brazil, Mario Dirani
will expand on future creation of the National Institute of Railway Research in Brazil, that is being conducted by the Ministry of Transports and DNIT. He will explain the the plan of action and the resource that will be made available through the institute. Richard Aaroe, CEO of Gold Sponsor, Wave Train Systems AS will discuss the impact of new technologies on level crossings and new solutions based upon novel technology will reduce maintenance and operational costs.
Mike Goggin from Associate Sponsor, Steer Davies Gleave will establish and maintain value via his presentation on transport investment. He will help the attendees identify the key determinants of that value and their quantification so as to create a robust case for investment to present to fund raisers and stakeholders. To take discussions further Mike will share SDG’s experience in Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Europe to identify the types of value that appropriate transport investment generate. By propagating a healthy discussion on various facets that are withholding the progress of the development path, LatAm Rail Opportunities 2014 will attempt to support the momentum of the infrastructure development plans in the region.
