Kaplan Higher Education today announced that Heritage College is now known as Kaplan College.
Today, the campus hosted a ceremony to celebrate its new name. Highlights included remarks from Rob Dillman, executive director of Kaplan College; Jeff Conlon, president of Kaplan Higher Education; Larry Singer, board of trustee member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce; Michael Vannozzi, regional representative of
the office of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid; and Christy Guedry, regional representative of the office of Sen. John Ensign.
By changing its name to Kaplan College, the Las Vegas-based school is formally recognized as being part of the Kaplan family. Kaplan, Inc. is a global provider of education services, and its name reflects a long-standing reputation for excellence.
'With campuses across the country, the Kaplan name brings national recognition to our school with a well known reputation among educators and employers,' said Dillman.
'We're marking a new chapter for Kaplan College,' said Guedry in a letter from Sen. Ensign. 'Your focus on health, criminal justice and computer systems helps our community remain on the cutting edge in these areas.'
Kaplan College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). The campus serves approximately 350 students and currently offers five associate degree and diploma programs. Areas of study of include criminal justice, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, medical insurance coder & biller, and computer support technician.
