The hearing, titled “Promotion of FDA-Regulated Medical Products Using the Internet and Social Media Tools,” will take place from November 12 – 13, 2009 in Washington, D.C.

This hearing is being held as a part of the FDA’s effort to gather data and discuss issues related to the use of the Internet and social media tools in marketing FDA-regulated medical products (including prescription drugs for humans and

animals, prescription biologics, and medical devices). Commentary and research from industry leaders such as Larry Weber will aid the FDA in making policy decisions and establishing preliminary guidelines concerning health care marketing online.
