LILLE, France (AP) - Lille goalkeeper Mickael Landreau faces several months out after tearing ligaments in his right knee.
The 30-year Landreau, recently signed from Paris Saint-Germain, injured himself in a freak preseason training incident on Friday.
«(I did it) myself, I was wrong-footed,» Landreau told sports daily L'Equipe. «My first thoughts went out to (coach) Rudi Garcia and to the club, which had done so much to sign me.

Landreau will have an operation in Paris on Sunday, and will be replaced at the start of the new season by Ludovic Butelle _ originally Landreau's understudy. Lille starts at home to Lorient on Aug. 9.
