Nation’s Largest Grocery Retailer Promotes 12-Year Veteran With Extensive Management Training
RALEIGH, N.C. – The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) ( www.kroger.com/), the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer with 16 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, has announced that Shannon Toth has been named district manager for the region. In her position she will be responsible for overseeing the overall operation of Kroger stores in Raleigh, Durham, Apex, Cary, Garner and Fuquay-Varina, as well as hiring, training and developing management teams for the stores, and monitoring and improving the stores’ financial performance. Toth has 12 years of experience working for Kroger, including positions in store management, data analysis of perishables, meat merchandising and seafood specialist, drug/general manager assistant merchandiser and district management. She previously served as district manager for Kroger stores
at four Virginia locations (Roanoke, the division office for Kroger Mid-Atlantic, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, and Shenandoah Valley), Beckley, W.Va., and the Tri-Cities region of Tennessee/Virginia.
Tim Brown, vice president of operations at Kroger Mid-Atlantic, which includes stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, said Toth is a graduate of Kroger’s extensive management training program, which instructs attendees on the company’s guidelines for providing leadership, operations oversight and human resources at area stores.
Toth earned both her Bachelors of Science in business administration with an emphasis in marketing and her Masters of Arts and Sciences in public administration from West Virginia University in Morgantown. A native of West Virginia, Toth is married to her husband, Jason, and has two children.
