This new relationship between Kings County and Thomson Reuters will help
streamline processes and manage costs in the county clerk-recorder office
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 28, 2012 - Kings County will implement GRM Recorder from
Thomson Reuters, a move that will help the county control costs and increase
efficiencies for the clerk-recorder's office.
GRM Recorder from Thomson Reuters enables integration between property recording
and vital records for a streamlined process, while automatic redaction
capabilities improve efficiency. The software is easily modified to respond to
rapidly evolving legislative mandates in California, increasing productivity and
accuracy while improving customer service for taxpayers.
By adopting this advanced technology, the clerk-recorder will be able to retire
the old mainframe and move forward with a modern record management solution that
will better support the needs
of Kings County, while making substantial, long
term reductions in operating expenses.
"The prospect of shifting to new technology solutions with a new partner can be
daunting," said Ken Baird, clerk-recorder for Kings County. "But, GRM will be a
significant upgrade from our existing system, one that will ultimately save us
time and allow the county to control costs while dramatically improving service
delivery to the public."
"More than anything, I've been impressed with the staff support in making this
move as seamless as possible," Baird said. "The management of the project by
Thomson Reuters has made this experience much more manageable. It's that level
of support that makes me confident that our staff will receive the training
needed to learn the software and utilize it to its full potential."
"Thomson Reuters is committed to providing solutions that help our clients
address their biggest challenges," explains Bill McKinzie, managing director for
the government segment for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
"Our GRM solutions are designed for efficiency and flexibility so the clerk-
recorder's office can adapt to local markets and shifts in legislation. We are
pleased to announce this new relationship with Kings County, which helps us
expand on our existing knowledge and expertise within California."
